Court-Ordered Community Service

Family Promise of Hall County (FPHC) reserves the right to deny any individual seeking court-ordered community service hours the opportunity to volunteer with the organization based on the nature, type, and/or specifics of their offense. Individuals will be approved or denied based on their offense(s). However, it is also the policy of this organization to provide equal opportunities without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age, or disability.

COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE PROCESS:

FPHC does not accept volunteers for community service who are being charged, pleading guilty to, or having been found guilty of, certain serious/violent offenses including but not limited to:

  • Armed Robbery

  • Assault and/or Battery

  • Aggravated Assault (assault with a weapon)

  • Kidnapping

  • Arson

  • Robbery

  • Statutory/Sexual Offense

Other offenses will be considered on a case-by-case basis.​

Potential volunteers must submit the following documentation via email or in person in order to be considered for court-ordered community service with Family Promise of Hall County: paperwork from probation officer, court, or attorney stating the individual’s name, specific offense(s) committed, number of hours required, time limit to complete court-ordered hours, and the name and contact information of the probation officer or attorney. Volunteers who have been approved must supply a timesheet provided by the court at the time of volunteering, to be completed by the appropriate FPHC staff member.

PLEASE NOTE: Court-ordered community service workers will not be able to obtain their hours at FPHC after one (1) no-call, no-show; you will have 15 minutes from the beginning of your scheduled time to cancel. If a community service worker needs to reschedule more than two (2) times, they will no longer be able to obtain service hours at FPHC. FPHC operates with a small staff and cannot accommodate missed appointments and repeated rescheduling.
