Family Promise of Hall County (FPHC) partners with Help Us Move In (H.U.M.I.) to house families. This program is aimed at eviction prevention, stabilization, and rehousing for families experiencing homelessness.
FPHC has established a working group to manage the program within the community and to identify families to receive assistance. Funds are restricted to rental assistance, housing arrears, and move-in expenses, including security deposits.
The goal of the program is a 50/50 balance between preventing family evictions and assisting families with move-in costs. According to H.U.M.I. data, the national average to rehouse a family is $11,000 to $16,000 while the cost to keep a family housed with the HUMI program is $1,189.
