Partnering  with Help Us Move In to prevent eviction, stabilize, and rehome families experiencing or at risk of homelessness

HELP US MOVE IN

Family Promise of Hall County (FPHC) partners with Help Us Move In (H.U.M.I.) to help families with minor children that live and work in Hall County maintain or secure affordable housing. This program is aimed at eviction prevention, stabilization, and rehousing for families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

FPHC has established a working group to manage the program within the community and to identify families in need of assistance. Funds are restricted to rental assistance, housing arrears, and move-in expenses, including security deposits. As part of H.U.M.I., FPHC provides case plans and management to help families efficiently utilize funds, set financial goals, and build a stable home environment.

The goal of the program is a 50/50 balance between preventing family evictions and assisting families with move-in costs. According to H.U.M.I. data, the national average cost for rehoming a family is $11,000-$16,000, while the cost to keep a family housed with H.U.M.I. is $1,189.
